Requirements for all students include two courses in data analytics, two courses in the research process, an additional methods course (e.g. geographic information systems, survey design, qualitative research, oral history, data visualization, advanced methods in handling selection bias), professional writing and communication, theory or a substantive topics course, several electives related to the student’s chosen specialization, and a thesis or capstone project. Market Research (32 credits).
Learn techniques to analyze markets and customize data to support marketing strategy decisions.
Data Science (35 credits).
This joint program with the Computer Science Department prepares students with both the analytic and computing skills to work in the field of Big Data.
Program Evaluation and Policy Analysis (32 credits).
Learn to turn research skills toward the targeted tasks of evaluating programs and policies and prepare for careers in policy, government, healthcare, and education.
Media and Marketing (35 credits).
This joint program with the Media Studies program prepares students for careers in marketing and advertising.
